Sacred Global CosmoPop Concert & EcoFest

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

October 23-25, 2009 come to Avalon Gardens next to the historic Tumacácori Mission for a Sacred Global CosmoPop Concert & EcoFest featuring Gabriel of Urantia & his 11-piece, international Bright & Morning Star Band! If you missed this fantastic “Festival of Hope” last June, you’ve got another chance to enjoy all the sights, sounds, flavors and more this time around as there will be added vendors, campers, and fun for the whole family. Festival activities include live music, independent film, activist theater, eco-conscious speakers, kid’s activities, a unique eco-village experience, a variety of ethnic foods, vendors of all sorts, and more.

Avalon Gardens is 165 acres of organic gardens and farm fields nestled right along the Santa Cruz River.  Organic fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and beautiful ponds grace the property and festival events take place around a beautiful stage built by one of the ponds.  Tours will be offered where festival-goers can learn about organic gardening and permaculture, as well as explore green-building projects including Cal-Earth domes and buildings made with a variety of recycled materials.  There will also be an inipi (purification or “sweat” lodge) and Cosmic Wheel of Destiny ceremony (based on the Native American Medicine Wheel) offered.  The Inipi or Sweat Lodge is an ancient ceremony of the Lakota people passed down through generations.  In Native American spirituality, the Medicine Wheel represents harmony and connections and is considered a major symbol of peaceful interaction among all living beings on Earth.

This 3-day festival features Global Change Music Nonprofit Record Label artists including Van’sGuard, Starseed Acoustic Ensemble, and The Change Agents Band, and culminating in a grand finale Sacred Global CosmoPop Concert by Gabriel of Urantia & The Bright & Morning Star Band on Sunday afternoon, October 25th.  Gabriel of Urantia is the founder of Global Change Music Nonprofit Record Label.  His own unique style of music, CosmoPop, attracts people from all religions and walks of life, who seem to come together under the banner of “One God, One Planetary Family.” With the continued recession and economic crisis, it seems more people are open to hearing the lyrics of spiritual unity in CosmoPop’s content, as people are looking more inward and upward in these times of national and international crisis.  CosmoPop itself is a fusion of rock, pop, jazz, folk, Celtic, and even country-western, with added mantras.  Also from this unique music a unique style of dancing has emerged called CosmoDance in which people seem moved by the Spirit within.

People of all ages, all races, and all economic brackets are encouraged to come to the festival as Gabriel of Urantia is advocating what he calls “new paradigm admission” for these Sacred Global CosmoPop Concerts & EcoFests.  His tag-line is “By Donation – Whatever you can afford – Keep the dream alive!”  Because of this, many poor and disenfranchised are able to attend – often making pilgrimages across the country and world to gain faith and hope in these troubled times.  Donations benefit nonprofit teen & young adult rehabilitation programs and Avalon Gardens internships of Global Community Communications Alliance.

We are seeking additional sponsors and vendors to participate in the festival.  Sponsorship in our festival is rewarding to your business and helps support local charities. Your product or services will be showcased in an exciting kaleidoscope of food, music, arts, crafts, culture and people from all walks of life.  For more information about sponsorship and vendor opportunities please call (520) 403-6271.
