The Grocery Celebrates the Before the Music Dies Screening
The Government Street Grocery is a quaint restaurant bar nestled in downtown Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Week after week the owners of this establishment keep their patrons coming back with the best atmosphere and music to be heard along the hurricane savaged Gulf Coast. People drive from nearly an hour away just to breathe in the ventilated atmosphere of the venue. On any given weekend you can hear blues, jazz, funk, rock, string bands, reggae..the list goes on and on. It is, most certainly, about the love of REAL music with the owners, employees and all of this venues patrons. Weekend after weekend this venue is packed with people who turn off their radios and seek truth in music through understanding that you are not going to get the goods anywhere locally, unless you go to the Grocery. It is not a grocery store, however it does provide those who attend with the feeling that they are getting all needs met upon attending. Being able to host a showing of B4MD would not only be welcomed by the city and all surrounding cities, it will be ground breaking. Mississippi needs this, Mississippi deserves this, it is time. Local Jazz act The Dave Knorr Trio will perform a prelude to the showing as will Rooster Blues with Special Guest Neil Ladner after.
