a film by Andrew Shapter and Joel Rasmussen
Screen Door Film and St. Edward’s University deliver a unique educational combination of Business and the Arts.
AUSTIN, Texas – Friday, November 17th, 2006 - Screen Door Film and St. Edward’s University School of Management and Business Present:
Before The Music Dies
Join director Andrew Shapter and producer Joel Rasmussen, in person, as they present their award-winning documentary, Before The Music Dies.
Is original music drowning in the wake of big label marketing? Will radio ever again be the influential force it once was? Does the “next big thing in music even have a chance to be heard? Filmmakers Andrew Shapter and Joel Rasmussen traveled the country to uncover how American music arrived at this moment of truth. The answers they found – and the promise the future holds – make Before The Music Dies both riveting and exhilarating.
An insightful panel discussion will follow the screening, exploring both the unique distribution model for the film, as well as the legal and clearance issues surrounding the release.
The panel will include:
Andrew Shapter – Director
Joel Rasmussen – Producer
Deena Kalai – of Deena Kalai PLLC, legal and clearances for the film
Moderated by Russell Raines – Director, School of Management and Business at St. Edward’s University
