Music is something we can all easily relate to and is what brings us
together. What we hear and see everyday should not be limited to the
radio station’s rotation or a show’s top 10 video countdown. There are
many talented musicians out there that get turned away because they don’t
have the commericial appeal that can quickly contribute to a record
label’s bottom line. Today’s mainstream music sound so packaged and
repetitive that it forces us to look elsewhere for quality music
(internet, local clubs/small venues, and etc).
Before the Music Dies is a film that offers some insight on what really
goes on behind the scenes of mainstream music and how current musicians
continue to struggle because their talent is not good enough to make a
profit.
Let’s all reunite under one roof at the Independent on 11/13 to find out
how we can support those that deserve better recognition.
